Carbon Training International
Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to enrolments in professional courses and related services supplied by Carbon Training International Pty Ltd (CTI) through this website or by direct arrangement.
Last updated: 5 September 20261. Acceptance of these terms
By enrolling in a CTI course, purchasing a CTI service or asking CTI to provide training, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If an organisation enrols participants on their behalf, the organisation is responsible for ensuring that relevant participants are aware of the terms that apply to the training.
2. Enrolment
An enrolment is confirmed when CTI accepts the enrolment and the required payment has been successfully processed, or when CTI has agreed in writing to invoice or otherwise accept the enrolment.
Course places may be subject to availability. CTI may contact a purchaser or participant where additional information is reasonably required to administer the enrolment.
3. Prices and payment
Unless stated otherwise, prices shown on the CTI website are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.
Online card payments are processed through a third-party payment provider, including Stripe. CTI may also agree to invoice an organisation or participant where appropriate.
If a payment is declined, reversed or otherwise not completed, CTI may delay confirmation or delivery of the relevant course until payment is resolved.
4. Course delivery
CTI professional courses are generally delivered through live online learning sessions supported by course materials and workbooks. Individual learning units are typically approximately 1.5 hours in live webinar delivery, unless the relevant course page states otherwise.
Participants are responsible for having suitable internet access, a compatible device and any software reasonably required to participate in online training.
5. Course dates, facilitators and changes
CTI may make reasonable changes to course dates, session times, facilitators, delivery arrangements or learning materials where necessary. Where a material change affects an enrolled participant, CTI will provide reasonable notice where practicable.
If CTI cancels a course or is unable to provide the purchased service, CTI will offer an appropriate alternative, transfer or refund, taking into account the circumstances and any rights that apply under law.
6. Participant cancellations and refunds
For a change-of-mind cancellation made before the relevant course commences, CTI's current policy is to refund the course fee less a $100 administration charge.
After a course has commenced, a change-of-mind refund is generally not available. CTI may consider requests to transfer an enrolment or make another reasonable arrangement depending on the circumstances and course availability.
Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
7. Australian Consumer Law
CTI's services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law where those guarantees apply. Depending on the circumstances, a consumer may be entitled to a remedy if a service is not provided with due care and skill, is not fit for an applicable stated purpose, or is not supplied within the required or reasonable time.
These Terms & Conditions do not exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
8. Participant responsibilities
Participants are expected to engage professionally with facilitators and other participants, follow reasonable course instructions and use course systems and materials appropriately.
CTI may take reasonable steps to protect facilitators, participants, systems and course integrity where behaviour is unlawful, abusive, disruptive or compromises the learning environment.
9. Course materials and intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, CTI course materials, workbooks, slides, templates, recordings and other learning resources are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Enrolment gives the participant a personal, non-exclusive right to use supplied materials for their own learning and professional reference. Materials must not be reproduced, sold, published, uploaded, distributed or used to deliver competing training without CTI's prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
10. Course completion and certificates
Where a CTI course includes a certificate of completion or other course credential, issue of that credential may depend on completion of the relevant learning, participation, assessment or administrative requirements specified for the course.
11. Professional and regulatory outcomes
CTI provides professional education intended to build practical knowledge and capability in carbon accounting, carbon management, climate-related disclosure and related areas.
Training does not constitute legal, financial or regulatory advice and does not guarantee a particular employment, commercial, certification or compliance outcome. Organisations remain responsible for determining how legal and regulatory requirements apply to their circumstances and for obtaining specialist advice where appropriate.
12. Privacy
CTI handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Information provided during enquiry, enrolment, payment and course participation may be used for course administration, service delivery, communications, recordkeeping and related business purposes.
13. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CTI is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from a participant's use of course information or from circumstances outside CTI's reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, rights or remedies where doing so would be unlawful.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Australia and, where relevant, New South Wales. Mandatory consumer or other legal rights that apply to a participant in another jurisdiction are not excluded where they cannot lawfully be excluded.
